Reflection

On a final note, what would you like to share with me or the rest of the class about your experience in ballet this quarter. Favorite moments, frustrations. What worked? What didn't? what was missing? What new ideas will continue to inspire your dancing?

I have enjoyed teaching this class very much. As a class, you worked very hard and were great sports about the improv element. Maybe you even enjoyed that part a little by the end. I will work on putting a short video on the blog when I have finished up with end of the semester stuff so you can see yourselves and each other.

For the final showing, I think we decided to wear all black with an accent of bright color. I will work on putting together a little musical collage of our favorite rock n' roll ballet moments. We will put it together on Friday first thing. Don't be late!

Thanks for a wonderful quarter!

Love, love, love,

Louis

This quarter was a lot of fun! I always feel better when I have dance in my life. I am sad I cannot fit it into my schedule next quarter. During the beginning and all through dance I had trouble with remembering combinations. This quarter has taught me to do that better. I danced for 10 years when I was younger and through all those years I was almost always following someone, I got really good at it, but following doesn't allow you to work on more than just the combination itself. This quarter I worked on "downloading" all quarter and I really feel like I am soo much better at remembering combinations and I feel confident about it so that I can work my actual technique now.

I still have so much to learn about Ballet and dance, but this class gave me a stronger foundation than any class I have ever taken. Maybe I am more mature and my ability to focus is better now than it was in elementrary school and middle school.

Another note!!! The people in this class are the most encouraging people I have ever danced with. Loui has such a positive affect on everyone's attitude and it has been so much fun to be with people who are not mean about certain parts of dance. I remember being 12 and my dance instructor was telling me that girls like us with our body type just cannot be ballerinas. I do not think she is right. The kind of attitude I grew up in was not a great learning environment, my instructors attitude was very negative.

Thank you guys for being so encouraging and so much fun!! It was such a pleasure to watch people grow and help eachother grow all quarter!

Thank you Loui for being such a positive influence on my life you are really such a beautiful example! It was such an honor to be able to watch you dance and learn from you! You're such a great teach and I hope someday I have the priviege of taking a class from you again.

I love you all,

Jessica

My experience in this ballet class was very different from any ballet class I've ever taken but overall I thought it was a very good experience. Initially, I didn't like/ wasn't use to adding modern and our own choreography into the bar combinations but I got more use to it as the quarter went on. In every dance class I've taken, I've learned something new and it isn't much different for this class either. I was able to focus more on the basic movements and pathways by articulating the foot and each part. I liked rock and roll ballet especially the combination that goes with "unwritten" and "pocket full of sunshine". Those were fun! I had trouble choreographing my own movements but I think its getting better. I think this class had to offer alot that other classes may not ever experience especially with everyone in this class and the fun times we've all had this quarter. Looking forward to friday and thanks for a fun quarter Louis!

okay here go I'm about to get a little sappy. Oh Louis, I thought you were such a looney when I first met you. You were like "AND...we're cackling like witches....I can't hear you cackling!!". ANd I was like WHO IS THIS MAN? The thing is, I think that my whole being put off by the approach was really more just a sort of unsuredness about myself and a simultaneous yearning to have that same confidence that you have worked so hard to hone. Because, on the inside, I'm a cackling witch, too! I am a fairy, I am a bad girl, I am an oger...and bless you for reminding me that, even in an academic setting, it's okay to be those things. Since I was little I've been one to be very concerned about how other people interpret my actions, and I think you really taught me something even greater than ballet technique, and that is a new sense of confidence in my ability to dance - whether or not my technique is perfect or not. I started ballet when I was 6 and quit a few months later when our instructor told us we "sucked" haha. It was great to be able to just dance for once, and not have to constantly worry about dancing according to a certain standard or technique. Is it possible that I love dance even more now? THANK YOU LOUIS

I really enjoyed taking ballet this quarter! I have been dancing practically my whole life, but I haven't taken an actual ballet class since middle school. I think my favorite part was definately when we did rock'n'roll ballet. I really enjoyed that we could do ballet to modern music, because it made dance that much more fun.

I also really enjoyed the fact that we would do one class for three days, and then we would switch to a different class. Three days is long enough to learn the combinations yet short enough to not get bored. The different kinds of improv that we incorporated kept the ballet fun and interesting.

This quarter was a different experience for me in that I felt really unconfident when we had to dance for each other during class. I am usually a confident person, and in other styles of dance like tap and jazz I have never had a problem feeling unconfident or embarassed. That is one thing that I hope to improve on next quarter: my confidence in my own ability to perform ballet.

I am really looking forward to taking a dance class again next quarter. Louis, you did such a great job this quarter that I signed up for your modern class! I am also taking ballet 109 on tuesday/thursday. I think that dance is such a good way to stay in shape, and ballet has greatly improved my flexibility and my balance which carries over to other areas of dance.

wow Megan...that was very honest and touching.
I likened Louis' ballet teachings to sipping Lillet on the rocks with a twist of lemon, in a hot tub while concentrating heavily on revolutionary thoughts with the ever-present distraction of how sore my core muscles are.
Okay...that was a bizarre analogy. I really feel that I learned so much, not just about ballet, but also what my body is physically capable of. I learned that my limits were not as severe as I thought they were.
ps. I'm also a cackling witch, an ogre, a fairy and...of course...a bad grrrl.

I have to be honest, when i first signed up for this class i kind of thought it was going to be a walk in the park and really not that fun. But i was very wrong. I learned so much from this class. I have taken many many dance classes, but i have never had a ballet teacher who explains and demonstrates what he is trying to teach in such a way that is extremely easy to understand. I also really liked when you would make up a story for how we were supposed to feel when we were doing the combination. That really helped me. This class was so much fun for me because i like to be silly and goofy in class and i usually am the one getting in trouble for it. But in this class, there was time when it was appropriate for us to be that way and then we had to learn how to switch back into ballet mode. This was a great skill for me to learn and i am quite sure i will use it for many years to come. It was great making friends with all of you and i hope to see you in dance class next quarter! have a fun break and thank you Louis for being such a great teacher. :)~

I loved this quarter. I had so much fun and thought everyone gelled together really well.

I think that this class was the most intensive ballet class I have ever taken, and it taught me a lot about paying attention to the basics of ballet and attention to alignment and making sure I wasn't injuring myself. I think I need to work on mentally working on the phrases in my head and being able to do them without looking at others legs.

This quarter was a lof of fun. I learned a lof of ballet term from blog and website. I remember the first day of class i have hard to time to balance, especailly when my hand is off the bar, then i feel like that i was almost fall down but after 10 weeks of training, i feel like my balance is been improve to became better. I can balance myself when my hand if off the bar and i also feel my movement became more clear compared with the first day of the class.

I feel like i became better in the ballet technique but i still have a lot of technique in ballet that i have to learn. If i want to be able to become better dancer, i am sure i still have a long way to go for learning and practicing.

Thank you Louis for hard working teaching us. Your dance is very beautiful. I was very suprise and impress the whole time in the class by your ballet movement.

When i signed up for this class i expected a traditional ballet class with classical music, and a yelling teacher. It was really weird for me to adjust to this class not being like that but I'm glad i stuck with. The reason i don't like ballet so much is because of the music. My background being hip hop doing ballet usually bores me and i can't stand the music. I loved rock and roll ballet. It was so much fun doing moves to music i knew and liked. It was also weird to me that we got to talk so much in class. I'm used to having to be pretty quiet especially in certain classes at the studios i have danced in. I know i didn't talk much in class, only till the end of the quarter did it feel less weird for me. Lastly the people in the class where so much fun. Everyone has such a positive attitude it was really nice. I also want to thank you Loui for not giving up on me. I know I'm not a ballerina but your encouragement made me feel like i was doing something right...haha..oh on a final note i love your little pictures on the post with different facials..Some are hilarious!

I'm sad I cannot continue dancing here. I would really like to take your modern class, but I have many classes to complete for my major... No dance teacher I've ever had talked about core strength or the idea of where all the movements should come from. I'll definitely take that away with me in my future dancing. I can already see it helping in my tap dancing; toe stands became much easier when I engaged my core muscles. I actually really liked the improv because it was a chance to relax and stop freaking out about doing every move correct and precise. Rock n' roll ballet was awesome. Thank you.

Wow. This class was pretty awesome, and amazing. The people meshed together really well, which I feel made everyone at ease to be themselves - which was useful for things like "creep" and "ogre." But not only was the class incredibly fun and challenging to switch back and forth between the strict, uniform ballet style and the crazy, individualistic improv style, but it was also very educational. I really noticed progression throughout the quarter in everyone. It felt great to be able to do combinations and bar exercises and actually have it memorized after you had only gone over it once, whereas in the beginning I had trouble following even if we'd done the exercise multiple times before. Overall, I think this class taught me to think outside the box and to push away boundaries, as was evident by our unconventional exercises with rock ballet and our willingness to show our unique selves when performing in front of each other. I'm so glad that I took this course and that everyone who was in it was there. Thank you for an amazing quarter.. and a great finish with today's class. 'Twas a great way to end it. :)

I loved taking ballet this quarter, it was my first formal ballet class and I really want to take another. I enjoyed working with the bar and doing across the floor, I loved everything. I had a lot of fun in the class but I think my favorite thing to do was really high energy, jumpy, quick combinations to rock ‘n roll songs. As you probably know, my BIG frustration was the constant spilling of my soup. I tried to change my posture, but that’s hard to do when I’ve been doing it for about 19 years now. It’s kind of interesting because I asked some friends if they ever noticed anything “off” about how I stand in everyday life, and lots of them said yes, you stick your bottom out. So it turns out you don’t have to be a ballet teacher to notice . I am still working on it though, for example when I walk around on campus I think to myself, “how’s my posture?” and if it’s not okay, I change it.
You’re completely right about the whole improv element of the class. At first I dreaded it because I like structure and being told what moves to do, but by the end of class I started to love it, it was a chance where I could regain my focus while dancing exactly how I wanted, which is very important. It was kind of funny to watch the higher ballet classes perform “Unwritten” with us; a lot of them looked confused when we started dancing around (but they caught on very quickly). I’m so glad I got the chance to have you as my teacher Louis! You are an amazing dancer and you really have inspired me, I hope I’ll be seeing you around Meany. Take care!

I forgot to say something!! I really appreciate your effort to get to know each of us as unique individuals, rather than as simply "your dance class." I feel that in past dance classes, the teacher probably couldn't name half of the students. Also, because you took the time to know us, I think that we were better able to learn about each other - during class as well as through the blog. So, we felt more comfortable and at ease with each other, which definitely made our class way more fun. So thank you for that!! :)

I think this might have been the craziest, but most eye opening dance class I have ever taken. Because this class didn't focus on solely technique I was able to discover a whole new element of dance. I love that the class was a community and we laughed together, accepted each other (even when we were creeping around, or being shoe models), and respected each others growth. Learning how to dance with an intention and having an image of what I was trying to convey through my movements allowed me to realize that technique is a such a small part of dance.
I also really appreciated the focus on proper body alignment. Having danced for many years before college I remember the days of aching joints and injuries and it was a great environment to be focusing on my body and what it can do and not comparing it to anyone elses body or what my body should do.
This class was so innovative and I really appreciate Louis effort to provide us all with unqiue experiences that were not common in regular dance classes (water ballet anyone?) but also providing valuable tools that will help in my future dance classes.
Thank you Louis for an amazing quarter and being such a wonderful inspiration and teacher!!

vwluwrYou have no idea how much I love this class!! It was so sad that I could not dance for a week due ti my stupid sprained ankle..
Louis, I want to thank you for teaching me how dance is wonderful and stimulating. I leaned much from you. Your lessen was definately a great influence to my life. I leaned more than just ballet technique. I learned the spirit, the infinite possibility of body expression and the profoundness of dance. I want to thank this coincidence that I came to UW and took this course this quarter.
I will never forget how I enjoyed dancing in this class. This class will be the most memorable experience in in my study-abroad life.
Thanks everyone, good luck with your dance life and see you around!!

One word to describe ballet this quarter would have to be, ADVENTUROUS. Coming to class everyday, I never knew what to expect. And THAT was what made it soo much fun!

You gave us many opportunities to have fun with everyone in the class; through traveling, improv, and water ballet. And I think you're totally awesome for that.

I WILL MISS THIS CLASS!

I am really glad that I was able to fit this class in this quarter. I am a pre-nursing major so for the most part my classes are pretty much laid out for me but I have been wanting to get back into ballet and I finally found the time this quarter to get to do that. This class turned out to be more than just a surprise for me. Even though it has been many many years since I have done ballet, I am used to a very traditional setting where we all had to wear a certain shade of pink tights and uniform leotards, and at a different studio, skirts were required. I was used to the teacher constantly walking around correcting our posture, repositioning our arms, and working on our turnouts. I was actually very fond of this method because I knew what I was doing was technically correct and I could lean on the traditional aspects of ballet so that I always knew what I was supposed to do. So as you can imagine, this quarter really threw me for a loop but I soon found myself enjoying it. I loved the way you were so explicit in all you demonstrations and how you deeply cared that we gained a strong understanding of what we were supposed to be doing. Your humor and lightheartedness made this class an everyday joy. Through your example and encouragement I was able to feel more open about dancing and not care as much that everyone else was watching. Your confidence and poise are true attributes. Also, rock and Roll ballet was so much fun! I really appreciate all the time you took to come up with unique and fun, as well as educationally appropriate exercises each day. I can tell you really poured your heart into this class. I hope I can continue mroe dance classes now that I have taken the first step by getting back into it. Thanks for a really great quarter and overall ballet experience!

I really enjoyed taking Ballet 108 this quarter! Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. I have to admit that I was nervous, I thought that everyone was going to be soooo much better than me.

One of my favorite things about the class was the improv's we did. They really allowed me to discover different types of movement. I felt like I wasn't just restricted to the traditional ballet movements.

I also really enjoyed water ballet. When I first heard about it, I was like "ummmm I don't want to get in the water!" But it turned out to be REALLY fun, and beneficial.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about the class..... I tired, but I have nothing! I had lots of fun, and learned a lot!

I want to tell you Louis How much i love this classs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, at first im so afraid of the class because im not so sure whether i can follow the class or not. But you encourage me to do so. you make it so exciting and fun with the improvs and beautiful movement of dance. this class is different from the ballet classes i took in BCC. it let me explore and improve my dance not because of following a routine but because of the chance to improvise and being yourself in the dance. you showed me that you can be whatever you want in ballet, or that ballet is for everyone, every type of person. its not for just one with "ballet-material" people. (tall, skinny, long legs). YOU Can dance because you love it!

i love the different styles of ballet that we are able to do. it's new to me, and i really enjoyed it. i specially love! rock and roll ballet, and of course water ballet.

Once again! thank you so much louis! and i love this classs!!!!

ps. I'm also a cackling witch, an ogre, a fairy and...becoming a bad girll!*rawwrr*

There is no way to describe how thankful and appreciative i am that at this exact point in my life I was thrown into the swirling vortex of of your ballet classroom. I feel like my technique has improved more than I thought possible for someone with as little ballet experience as me. Watching everyone around me improve day after day gives me so much joy. And, get this. Every mon, wed, and fri, while i'm sitting in my 9:30, the minutes tick away and I start breathing more deeply and getting that excited, butterfly, happy feeling because i'm so thrilled about having this ballet class in my day. I've never felt more comfortable with a group of dancers either. You can feel the energy whipping around the room coming from a group of people who are living completely in the moment and enjoying music, company, and the joy of movement. I love all o' y'all.

And I couldn't stay away. See you in the swirling vortex of modern next quarter louis!

Oh, also. The blog is awesome. At first i was skeptical but it's so much fun to have contact with what other people are thinking and writing rather than just writing little papers and turning them in. It's so convenient too. Brilliant idea.

I enjoyed taking ballet this quarter. There was always something new. Working with improv, water, characters, and obscure metaphors helped make the ballet concepts a bit more accessible. Blowing in the breeze and ogres across the floor is an especially memorable combination.

Rock 'n Roll ballet was fun, but I think it was done too often. I can dance to my iPod anytime I want. It is a bit harder to find a skilled musician to accompany my dancing.

I feel that I have gained a better perspective of ballet from this quarter. A strictly structured approach is not necessarily the ideal way to learn in ballet class. Also, ballet and modern class now feel about the same. This will allow improvement to occur faster.

The blog is a good idea. The only downside is that it can only be a one-way conversation with students responding to your queries. I think an even better experience (I know it seems impossible) could be had within a discussion board. Catalyst Tools (a UW service) offers one such tool (GoPost) which would have the same functionality as this blog, but it would also allow students to start conversations and pose questions.

I find it amazing that winter quarter has already come to an end!

By far the best parts of this class were the Rock and Roll ballet weeks. I loved the combination of more classical moves with contemporary music. Sometimes ballet can get a little, well, dry. But the mixing up of the music and the incorporation of improv made the class so much fun!

Thomas makes an interesting point above about the actual musicians though. The Dance Department is really privileged to have such amazing musicians available for our classes. I had never danced with live accompaniment in class before I came into the UW program. So while I loved Rock and Roll ballet, I was also grateful for our lovely musician.

I love how our class seemed to really gel. I was so sad this week was our last because getting ready for the showing was so much fun. Dancing together in our Rock the Casbah circle was so much fun, and I loved how we all seemed to unite as a class.

Something I am grateful to have learned in this class is heightened awareness of the placement of my hips. I have taken enough classes in my life that I should have known by now, but I realized that my hamstrings are very tight and I need to work on being aware of my tendency to let my placement go to compensate for that. Louis, you pointed out this simple detail in class one day, and it was on my mind for the rest of class (and in my modern class too!). I feel like I'm more aware of my hips because of this class.

You are a wonderful and fun teacher, Louis! Thank you so much for a wonderful quarter!

This ballet class was really amazing. I definitely had a few struggles at the beginning with the modern/improv aspects, but as the quarter continued those parts became just as much a part of the dancing as the actual combinations, not the separate 'improv' part and then the 'dance' part. I loved how all encompassing this class was. It was mostly ballet, but there was the introduction of all kinds of dance forms, which I think it really important. This kind of exposure to modern was also really good for me. I've typically seen modern as a lot of what ballet isn't, and I guess that in some ways it is, but with the baby doses we got in this class I saw a lot of the potential that modern has and I definitely have a better appreciation for it. I think that in most classes the teachers try to teach you to do more than just the movements, and that learning how to really dance something is one of the most important parts, but I think that Louis did a really excellent job of even taking it beyond that... it wasn't even just dancing the movements, it was performing the movements... and performing in a way that was more than just smiling, performing so that you could feel what the dance was about, and so that everyone watching you could feel it too.
This class was really enjoyable. I think that everyone had a ton of fun and that there was a lot of bonding that happened because of the atmosphere that the goofiness inspired.
We did a lot of really amazing/fun/inspiring/different/wacky/spectacular things this quarter. If nothing else, I think that this class has helped me to be a little bit better of a person.
Thank you so much, Louis. You've been a beautiful example. It's been an honor.

It was nice to get back to the basics of dance and refresh on the fundamentals in alignment and positioning (and realize that I had forgotten most of them). I really appreciated taping the floor for tondu's in the first couple weeks.
I also appreciated the effort to try to make ballet more exciting and put some extra things into the class (the rock 'n roll ballet was fun). Not everything that was introduced worked for me or was something that I could connect to, but it was interesting to see what was going to happen next and what we would be doing today.

I loved this class! It was definitely one of the best dance experiences I've had. I was a little bit skeptical at first about all of the improv, but I ended up really getting a lot out of it, and feeling like it helped me come out of my "dance" shell. I really liked how we incorprated so much into our ballet dancing (like the improv and pilates exercises, and danced to different types of music). I think those things definitely expanded my dance knowledge and helped me overcome some stereotypes I had about ballet. We also did some silly things, like our bad girl walks, but they were really relevant to what we were doing and actually had a purpose. At the same time we were incorporating all of these new ideas into our ballet dancing, we were also working on our more traditional ballet technique and dancing, and I loved that we were able to accomplish both of those things at the same time. Overall, Louis, I really enjoyed your class - not only was it a blast, but I got so much out of it. Thanks for the great quarter everyone!

Oh, my gosh, where to begin?

My love of dance has been fed and blossomed this quarter, and I am so delighted to be continuing on with more dance classes next quarter.

Louis, I don't think you will ever fully understand the incredible impact you made on my life! This has been one of the most discouraging times in my life, and ballet was like a constant reaffirmation of my love and belief in art and performing. I truly appreciate your love and devotion to our class and your perception to people's feelings - I can't thank you enough.

As far as a class, I have LOVED getting to know everyone in class, and feel that we've become such a fun group of dancers as the quarter progressed! I can't wait to see you all next quarter around - either in dance classes or just hanging out! I thought that we had a really fun final performance and was very sad to have class over!

Louis,

It was so evident that you had an immense amount of emotional, mental and creative investment in the class - you worked just as hard, if not more, than the rest of that, and that is a rare thing to find in an instructor, it seems. It was so great to feel how much interest you had in seeing us learn and grow. The energy that you put into the class was very touching.

You certainly stretched my thinking in so many ways that I cannot even name them all. There were constantly ways that you would introduce ideas, etc that I had never thought of before, and I certainly felt that these new ideas have fed me as an artist.

I think many people have expressed the difficulty of unconventional practices incorporated into our class. I am always a fan of unconventional practices! However, I often times found myself frustrated with some of them in some ways, but that was partly the stretching I was referring to, the growing, expanding, the challenge I was appreciative of working through.... And then I remember a few occasions, especially with the Rock and Roll ballet, that we were all running around like crazy just dancing freely, and I think it was the first time that we did that that I was so amazingly moved to almost tears for not having just let go like a kid in so many years - it was an incredible feeling...

Thank you so much for all of your work this quarter. Best of luck to you in your endeavors. And thank you to all of the other students! I really do feel a camaraderie with all of you more than any other UW dance class I have taken!!!!

Thank you!! Louis, this quarter truly is landmark in my dancing education. You have reminded me of the effectivness in maintaining a sense of curiosity, ehtusiasm and individuality while learning new steps to a particular aesthetic or technique. The dynamic teaching method you used allowed for growth and progression. I truly felt you honored the speed of learning at a beginning level and the necessary reminders that beginners need to make that mind and body connection.
The implementation of other tools to grow and prgress as dancers was an effective tool. Sometimes dancers are not expsed to exracurricular activities or additonal exercises until advanced levels however the pilates day and the pool exercises are fundamental in the beginning stages to develop an awareness of the muscles needed to innitiate the movement.
Furthermore, I truly felt I got to dance in your class and embdy the music and aesthetic qualities of dancing ballet. Thank you. I still think that this class is one of the expereiential learning expereinces that only come by once in awhile or you seem them in a documnetary or in a film and when experiences like these do come by I realize how important creativity, openmindedness, community engagement and interaction and a smile/laughter is essential to really experiencing!

My experience of Ballet with you, Louie, is a great one. I really love the improv. I love the freedom to dance and show attitude. You had so many innovative ideas in our class that made it the best ever. I loved rock n roll ballet, water ballet, and bad girl ballet. Bad girl ballet was my very favorite.

I also learned a lot of technique in this class. It is only my second formal ballet class, and I feel I improved a lot. I feel that every teacher brings something new to help me improve, and I am thankful to all of you.

I want to especially thank you for the way you allow your students to enjoy learning and not feel so worried about making mistakes. It made me feel young again - like I was in 5th grade again. I also enjoyed all the students in this class. Everyone was willing to work hard and have fun with all the new ideas. I think this says a lot about your unique and special (in a very good way) teaching style. I am going to miss this class!

I always dread the end of the quarter in dance classes because I know I will miss my dance teacher and classmates, and then will have to re-adjust to a new teacher and class the next quarter.

I really enjoyed this class, for many different reasons. One of the most important reasons would be the patience, enthusiasim and creativity Louis brought to class and especially how well the entire class worked together. I love how our class worked together to "download" combinations and how everyone was cooperative with the improv.

Louis also gave us a lot of insight in incorporating theatre and a sense of emotion in dancing. It improved the way I perform and connect my senses to the physicality of movement. These are skills that I will be able to apply to my future dance classes and perhaps performances. I am also very interested in dance composition and this class has inspired me to think of incorporating theatre and emotion in dancing.

In all, this class was a good surprise and has given me a unique learning experience that I will remember forever. Thanks for class!

I really enjoyed this quarter of ballet. Ballet has never been my favorite dance class and was always just that class to take to strengthen your dancing as a whole. But this quarter was different. I had fun and was challenged a lot.
For me, ballet class can be boring and I'm not really putting my all into it. But you were so creative with our exercises and combinations. Since I've been at the University, I haven't had ballet with music other than the live piano or drums. I thought that was very unique. I learned a lot about my body and my abilities. You didn't just teach us about technique but also about emotion and really feeling what your dancing about. Thank you so much for a great quarter!
